My transfer seems stuck
Most delays come from a small mismatch, like a name spelled differently or an expired Transfer PIN.
First, a sanity check on timing: transfers can take up to 48 hours, and T-Mobile's porting office is closed on weekends — a Friday submission usually lands Monday. If you're inside that window, odds are nothing is stuck at all. And know that we're watching too — if something goes wrong during your transfer, we'll reach out to you directly.
The usual suspect: a small mismatch
When a transfer genuinely stalls, the cause is almost always a tiny difference between what we submitted and what your old carrier has on file:
- Name spelled differently — a middle initial, a hyphen, a maiden name.
- Old billing address or zip — especially if you've moved since opening the account.
- Wrong account number — the most common rejection of all. Prepaid carriers especially use account numbers that don't match your phone number or your bill. Double-check yours.
- Expired Transfer PIN — most PINs die within 4 to 7 days. If it's been a while, grab a fresh one.
Blocks on the old account
A few things on your old carrier's side can hold a port hostage:
- Number lock or port protection still enabled — some carriers turn it on by default. How to switch it off.
- An unpaid balance on the old account.
- Inactive service — prepaid lines that lapsed can't port.
- A business account that needs an authorized contact to approve the release.
What to do
Email us at support@wizardperks.com and say your transfer looks stuck. We can see exactly where it sits, and we'll pin down what's holding it — usually it takes one corrected detail and a resubmission. If everything checks out and it's still pending, we escalate directly through our T-Mobile business channel. That's our job, not yours.
