Finding your account number
Where to find your account number on AT&T, Verizon, and other carriers — it's usually not your phone number.
Your carrier account number is one of the three things we need to transfer your number — and it's almost never your phone number. A wrong account number is the single most common reason a transfer gets rejected, so it's worth finding the real one.
AT&T
- On your bill: upper right corner of any AT&T bill.
- In the myAT&T app or att.com: go to Profile, then My linked accounts.
Verizon
- On your bill: listed at the top of any Verizon bill. Postpaid account numbers typically end in -00001.
- In the My Verizon app or website: under your account or profile details.
Other carriers
Every carrier has one, though where it lives varies:
- Most carriers: check the top of a recent bill, or your account details in the carrier's app or website.
- Prepaid brands (Straight Talk, Tracfone, Total Wireless, Simple Mobile, and similar): the account number is usually the last 15 digits of your SIM or IMEI. Text FOUR to 611611 from your phone and they'll text it back.
- Google Fi: the account number only appears inside the transfer-out flow, alongside your Transfer PIN.
- If all else fails, call your carrier and ask directly: "What's my account number for porting out?"
Double-check it
Prepaid carriers especially use account numbers that don't match your phone number or anything printed on your receipt. If your transfer comes back rejected, this is the first thing we'll verify together. Next step: get your Transfer PIN.
