Upgrading to a new phone
Use your phone's built-in transfer flow to move everything over.
Got a new phone? Great news: your Wizard service moves with you. The phone makers handle the data; we make sure your line comes along for the ride.
Before you start
- Make sure the new phone is on our supported list and unlocked
- Both phones charged, on Wi-Fi, and next to each other
- Back up the old phone (iCloud, Google, or computer) as a safety net
- Give yourself unhurried time — big transfers can take a while
Moving everything over
- Turn on the new iPhone and set it next to your old one — the Quick Start prompt appears on the old phone.
- Follow the on-screen steps: connect to Wi-Fi, set up Face ID, choose a transfer method (iCloud download or direct device-to-device).
- Keep both phones plugged in and together until the transfer finishes.
- During setup, iOS will offer to transfer your cellular plan to the new phone. Say yes — that's your Wizard line moving over.
- If the Quick Start prompt disappears, restart both phones and start again. A USB cable between the two phones is the fallback for flaky Wi-Fi.
If your service doesn't activate on the new phone
Treat it like any eSIM hiccup: restart, toggle Airplane Mode, and check for a carrier settings update — the full sequence is in troubleshooting eSIM activation. Still stuck? Email us a screenshot of the new phone's About screen (we need its IMEI and EID) and we'll connect it from our side.
One caution if you're buying used: check the phone before you pay — a device with a bad history can't be activated at all.
