How the wireless plan works

T-Mobile powers it, Wizard runs it. What that changes, and what it doesn't.

Our wireless plan is a managed mobile plan: T-Mobile powers it, Wizard runs it. Here's what that looks like day to day, and the few places it differs from a plan you'd buy at a store.

The network vs. the company

Your service runs on the T-Mobile network, so coverage, speed, and reliability come from one of the largest networks in the country. T-Mobile isn't who you deal with, though. For everything else, Wizard is your plan:

  • Billing goes through us, on the card you signed up with.
  • Support goes through us, from a stuck transfer to a voicemail reset.
  • Account changes go through us. Adding a line, updating a card, canceling a line: most of it you can do yourself from your dashboard.

How we get the price

We're a partner of T-Mobile, and your line sits under our account with them rather than under a personal account in your name. T-Mobile prices that differently, and because the plan is never advertised to the public, we pass the difference along. That's the whole trick.

At a T-Mobile store

Because your line lives under our account, retail T-Mobile stores, T-Mobile customer care, and the T-Life app can't look it up. A store visit ends with "we can't find your account." A note to us ends with the problem solved, so come to us first.

Moving your number somewhere else

You can leave any time, no contract. Porting out needs a transfer PIN, and since your line sits under our account, we generate it for you. Contact us and you'll have it within a business day.

If your situation changes

Nothing happens to your plan. Access comes through the company or program that sent you here, but once you're in, you're in. Change jobs, cancel the membership that got you here, whatever it is: your line stays on the plan at the same price.
